There are three hot spring resorts in Kaga City, Ishikawa Prefecture: Yamashiro Onsen (Yamashiro), Yamanaka Onsen, and Katayamazu Onsen. There are quite a few. Komatsu Airport is the gateway to all of these hot springs. It seems that each onsen ryokan offers a shuttle service from Komatsu Airport to the onsen ryokan, and you may occasionally see a pick-up service in the arrival lobby of Komatsu Airport.

In 2023, the Hokuriku Shinkansen line will be extended, adding one more gateway to this Kaga Onsen. 2023 will see the birth of the Hokuriku Shinkansen “Kaga Onsen Station”. For people living along the Tokyo⇔Tsuruga (Fukui Prefecture) line, Yamanaka Onsen, which we will introduce here, will become a little closer in the future.

As a preface, we would like to mention that Yamanaka Onsen “Butterfly” is a 30-minute drive from Kaga Onsen Station on the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line, and of course, the hot spring hotel provides a shuttle service to and from the hotel, and almost all rooms have individual open-air baths. First of all, the charm of the Butterfly is that it is a small inn, which means that it can be rented out for weddings and wedding ceremonies. This is a great way to differentiate yourself from other weddings of people you know, and is a wedding style you should definitely choose.

There are many things to see and do inside the Butterfly House, and the first surprise is the “Ko-Kutani Gallery. The first surprise is the “Old Kutani Gallery,” where you can enjoy local crafts in the privacy of your own ryokan.

Juraku-dai, 1st floor

The suite room of the Butterfly House is called “Juraku-dai” (difficult to read). It was difficult to take pictures of this room because it is very popular, but I was able to take pictures in between.

The great thing about this Jurakudai is that both rooms on the first and second floors are combined as a set (maisonette).

This open-air bath is a private open-air bath exclusively for this room.

The hot spring water is continuously flowing even when there are no guests. This is an amazing thing (hard to convey).

Perfect for location photography. You can shoot anywhere in the garden and take as many location photos as you like.

Juraku-dai, 2nd floor

More to come. This is the second floor of Jurakudai. This is a completely private place, and the staff of Hujing rarely enter it.

The bedroom is also on this second floor. It is a spacious bedroom.

Other Rooms

We will also introduce rooms other than the Jurakuji. These suites are located on the first floor, and are also very spacious. Any of these rooms would make a great gift for your parents.
