Onsen weddings are “one-night, two-day weddings”, a “hot spring trip + wedding” style wedding with family, friends and guests.

温泉ウエディングの仕組み

A wedding is over in three to four hours. Is it really that short? Many people may think so. It is also common for guests and relatives who have come a long way to talk to each other for only a few minutes.

Onsen wedding is a wedding where all guests spend one night and two meals together.

01. Weddings in entire private onsen ryokan

This Ryokan can actually be rented out for 20 people or more.

The main attraction of onsen weddings is the possibility of renting out a small luxury ryokan in its entirety.

It is not easy to rent out an onsen ryokan for use unless it is a wedding. The bars and lounges in onsen ryokan can be used to hold mini-concerts for guests and relatives only.

Onsen wedding can be held in a private onsen ryokan for a total of 20 people. Has there ever been such a luxurious wedding?

02. Perfect wedding even at Onsen wedding in Japan

Onsen wedding is more than just a wedding reception. A full wedding ceremony is held. This is also the charm of a spa wedding.

No shrines in Onsen? No churches either? You might think so, but we can provide transport between the shrine and church at the onsen ryokan to ensure a smooth wedding ceremony.

Recently, it has become very common for public ceremonies to be held in onsen ryokans, rather than in shrines or churches.

03. Onsen weddings not just for Japanese-style weddings

Do you think that onsen weddings can only be held in kimono? Dresses are of course possible.

Onsen weddings can head with a photographer to tourist attractions and installation spots at onsen ryokan for dress and kimono location shoots.

There are many shooting spots in the area around the hot spring ryokan, which makes for wonderful location shooting. It is also possible to shoot in a dress studio, please contact us for details.

04. Same as in onsen ryokan, “pay later” system.

Although you will need to pay a production fee when you sign the contract for a hot spring wedding, unlike guesthouses where everything is paid for in advance, this is a ‘deferred payment’ system, the same as staying at a hot spring hotel. An initial estimate will be made and an approximate amount calculated. Payment is made after the event has taken place. Onsen Weddings produces weddings according to your budget.

05. I want to be invited

What kind of wedding would you like to attend? Onsen Weddings aims to create weddings that people say “I want to be invited” and “I would love to be invited”. What kind of wedding would you like to be invited to?

Onsen ryokan Private experience

A whole small ryokan can be rented out for a hot spring wedding for around 20 people. This is the kind of wedding I would like to attend.

Held at luxury hot spring inns

I’m spending money on a wedding, so a luxury onsen ryokan I’ve never stayed at is an option. This is the kind of wedding I want to be invited to.

Guestroom with private open-air bath

Even if you don’t like big baths, it’s okay. Arrangements can be made for onsen ryokan with open-air baths in all rooms.

Many couples give their parents a “suite” as a gift. Why not give them a trip to a hot spring?

06. Onsen Ryokan throughout Japan are covered.

Onsen Wedding team can deal with and negotiate with any onsen ryokan anywhere in the country. You ask the onsen ryokan you go to directly, “Can we have a wedding there?” If you ask the onsen ryokan directly if it is possible to hold your wedding ceremony, they will refuse. In such cases, we will negotiate with the inn and make arrangements for you to hold your wedding at the onsen.

FAQ

Answer

Onsen Wedding does not offer wedding services as a package. Please understand that Onsen Wedding is a concierge to create your Onsen Wedding. For this reason, the first step is 1. meeting via ZOOM or LINE → 2. contract → proposal of your Onsen ryokan. Please contact us first and let’s talk on ZOOM/LINE.

Answer

The concept of an onsen wedding held at an onsen ryokan can be easily understood if you think of it as “the cost of accommodations at the onsen ryokan + costumes + production costs.

Since “all meals and venue costs are included in the accommodation fee” at onsen ryokan, weddings can be held at a much more reasonable cost than at guesthouses specializing in weddings.

Our company has many questions such as what is your budget, how many guests do you want to invite, where do you want to hold the event, etc. First of all, please contact us here. From there, we will work with you on the budget.

Answer

When people hear about onsen weddings, they tend to think only of enjoying the hot springs in the large baths, but the most enjoyable part is spending a night and two days together with your guests. Some ryokans have rooms with open-air baths, so you can enjoy the hot springs in your room, or have private baths that you can bathe in individually. Our onsen wedding staff will suggest suitable ryokans during pre-booking counseling to ensure that your guests have a comfortable stay.

Answer

Many people mistakenly think that onsen weddings are only for Japanese-style weddings, but there are many facilities that offer wonderful gardens and indoor spaces for parties. Many brides prepare a special wedding space inside the building or change their wedding dress to a different color for the reception. Even if you don’t want to do a pre-shoot, it is also popular to enjoy location shooting at nearby sightseeing spots or inside the wedding hall during a relaxing overnight stay.

Answer

Please consider 3 to 4 months as the wedding preparation period, based on the time required for invitations and replies from guests. If the number of guests is between 2 and 20 (without invitations and with confirmation of attendance), it is possible to prepare the wedding in about 10 days if we can make reservations at a ryokan. (We can also accommodate customers who wish to have their wedding prepared in the shortest possible time.)

Answer

Ryokan is not a facility specializing in weddings, so we do not offer general venue tours or plans that specify what is necessary for a wedding (decorations, costumes, photography, etc.). We will assemble a plan based on the couple’s wishes and budget. Please be assured that we will schedule a tour of the ryokan that Onsen Wedding proposes when considering your reservation.

Answer

Just like choosing a wedding venue, there is no catalog of ryokan where you can have a hot spring wedding. We will suggest places and inns that will provide a wonderful experience for you and your guests from among the many onsen towns and ryokan located throughout Japan.

Answer
